At PLC we will adjust our test taking preparation course to match the needs of the student.  We speak with each individual to understand what that persons needs and goals are.  We then plan our lessons to use the classroom time most effectively.  In some cases, the student will request specific help in one portion of the upcoming test.  For example, in some cases, I have had students request a focus on conversation (listening and speaking skills) because they can take practice tests and study vocabulary at home.  In other cases, the student will require a more comprehensive course that addresses each skill measured in the upcoming test.

Similarly, we evaluate the students initial skill level before beginning with us and the amount of time before the test will be taken.  If there is a significant amount of time before the student will be tested, we will focus on a more long range goal of preparing for the test by building a strong foundation of skills that can be continually refined leading up to the exam.  If the test date is rapidly approaching, we will adjust to a more "crash course" lesson plan.  Focusing on ways to maximize results in the short term.  This will often include a heavy focus on test taking strategy and lots of practice taking the specific test.  In the short term, we may not have time to build an strong foundation of English skills.  Instead, our focus will be centered around English test taking skills.

Regardless of the skill level of the student, and the test that the student must prepare for, we ensure that the lesson plan is carefully designed in order to get the maximum benefit of the time spent at PLC.
